The Mantra

Feel whole, own your evolution

You want to love your life, find happiness, and feel whole. You want to see the world in abundance, have the confidence to actualize your goals, and feel light—not letting stress and self-doubt slow you down. Only you are fighting yourself every step of the way, adding pressure to get ahead faster and sabotaging yourself into thinking you’re not good enough. You’re searching for the secrets everywhere, except the one place you can find them: in yourself.

Feeling comfortable, confident, and sexy in your own skin is hard work. It’s even more challenging when day-to-day life pulls on your focus and drags you down.

Stress

We are accustomed to using the word stress for any discomfort we may be feeling. In actuality, stress is an umbrella term for a wide range of thoughts and emotions, and those thoughts and emotions, if not felt or dealt with, can manifest themselves physically within us. Think: headaches, fatigue, back pain, digestive distress, sciatica, frequent sickness, weight gain or loss, and more. Every emotion is energy, and that energy needs to flow through the body to be released. Only we don’t always let our emotions flow through us, we hold them in. We don’t allow ourselves to feel sad, angry, hurt, embarrassed, or nervous. We hide these feelings, because they’re too painful. Our brains, responsible for this, are trying to protect us from feeling badly but it’s only making the situation worse. This can cause us to feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, unmotivated, and discouraged.

While it takes consistent introspection and self-reflection work to uncover your deepest emotions, the good news is that you can use a quick, daily technique to overcome stress and find your confidence.

What is a mantra?

The mantra: a short phrase or word that clears your mind and helps you focus again. This technique can be used every single day. It is a way to reconnect with your true self, have a direct path to your intuition, overcome self-destructive, stressful thoughts, and push away the fear. The mantra is like a magic elixir to get you back to yourself. You may choose to use it in addition to your self-exploration or as a daily quick fix when feeling stressed about unique situations.

Mantras are there for you when you’re feeling down, when you feel like you’re not enough, when you are being mean to yourself, when you’re disappointed, and when you can’t forgive someone (or yourself). You can create mantras when you need to make a decision, set an intention, reach your goal, or when you want to be more appreciative and grateful. The mantra helps you believe in yourself, find freedom, and feel invincible once again.

Your life is your creation. You can choose how you feel every day. It’s easy to forget that though. Sometimes we let our thoughts and emotions get the best of us. We know it’s not really us, but we don’t know how return to ourselves. We want to feel better. We want to feel free. We want to feel calm. We want to stay sane.

Let’s go through the process of how to create your own mantra.

Create your mantra

To create your own mantra, there are four questions to answer. Take three deep breaths. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Write down what comes to your mind.

  • How am I feeling right now?

Think about your real feelings. Are you overwhelmed? Nervous? Scared? Angry? Really pay attention and be honest with yourself. What are you feeling in this moment?

  • What am I thinking right now to make me feel this way?

These are the thoughts that are making you feel how you responded in question one. Are you thinking specific things that are making you feel this way?

  • How do I want to feel?

Think about how you REALLY WANT to feel. Peaceful, calm, happy? Let this come to you.

  • What thought could make me feel this way right now?

What specific thought will help you start feeling the way you want to feel? Sometimes, this takes time. Think about the truth. If you are stuck, asking questions like this will help: “What is the opposite of my fearful thought?” and “What would my best friend tell me right now?”

Create your mantra out of your last thought. Make it a phrase or a word. Repeat it to yourself. Does it resonate? Use it as your check-in to reconnect with yourself when overwhelming fears cloud your mind. Use it to make a decision. Use it to find yourself again.

Remember who you are. Remember who you are becoming. Remember that you are an incredible, worthy person. Know yourself, accept yourself, and evolve into that person.
